Unveiling the Musical Journey of DJane LP Giobbi

DJane LP Giobbi: Pioneering the Electronic Music Frontier

Hailing from Eugene, Oregon, DJane LP Giobbi has carved an extraordinary path in the music industry, blending her classical jazz piano background with a passion for electronic beats and empowering initiatives.

LP Giobbi’s musical journey began at UC Berkeley, where she honed her skills in classical jazz piano. It was during this time that she crossed paths with Lauren Spalding, igniting a partnership that would shape her musical trajectory. Despite starting with jazz piano gigs, LP Giobbi’s encounter with a producer for Daft Punk sparked her interest in production and electronic music.

Embracing the electronic music realm, LP Giobbi delved into music production with Ableton Live, guided by luminaries like Sophie Hawley-Weld and Tucker Halpern of Sofi Tukker. This led to collaborations and an opening slot on Sofi Tukker’s tour, paving the way for her debut single “Amber Rose” under the label “Animal Talk,” which she co-founded with Sofi Tukker and hermixalot.

In 2019, LP Giobbi co-founded Femme House, a non-profit organization dedicated to amplifying opportunities for marginalized creatives in the music industry. Her commitment to diversity and inclusion extends to her role as Global Director of Music for W Hotels, where she curates unforgettable musical experiences.

LP Giobbi’s passion for The Grateful Dead inspired her Dead House project, incorporating Dead stems into her house music sets. Her remix of Jerry Garcia’s self-titled debut album and performances at Dead & Company afterparties further solidified her connection to the Dead community.

In a groundbreaking move, LP Giobbi launched the label “Yes, Yes, Yes” under Defected Records, releasing her first single “Time Expands” featuring her own vocals. Her remix of Taylor Swift’s “Cruel Summer” showcased her versatility and innovation in electronic music.

Returning to her roots, LP Giobbi headlined the Oregon Country Fair, marking the first electronic act to do so. Her relentless pursuit of musical excellence and advocacy for inclusivity continue to inspire and uplift the electronic music community.
