Christmas EDM: electronic tracks that appear most frequently on platforms

The presence of electronic music during the Christmas period is not recent. Over the years, certain tracks and aesthetics have repeatedly appeared in themed playlists, private parties, and digital content published in December. The pattern observed across platforms points to a preference for remixes of well-known classics and for electronic productions with more atmospheric sound profiles.

This trend is reflected both in editorial playlists and in user-generated content.

Among the tracks that recur most often during this period are electronic versions of songs already associated with Christmas. These remixes commonly appear in dance, electronic pop, and house playlists throughout December.

“All I Want for Christmas Is You,” by Mariah Carey, frequently shows up in EDM and dance versions, especially house and slap house variations, used in themed playlists and short-form videos.

“Last Christmas,” by Wham!, is another widely remixed track. Deep house and future house versions can be found in Christmas playlists on Spotify and in content on YouTube, maintaining the original melodic structure with electronic adaptations.

“Santa Tell Me,” by Ariana Grande, appears in various EDM remixes linked to pop dance playlists and audiovisual productions aimed at younger audiences, particularly on social media platforms.

Beyond remixes, some electronic productions recur in Christmas playlists even without lyrics directly related to the holiday.

The album Christmas, by Kaskade, is frequently included in electronic music selections for the period, bringing together melodic house, downtempo, and ambient tracks. The project is often revisited annually in themed playlists.

“Real Love,” by Clean Bandit, also appears in end-of-year playlists, associated with the emotional tone of the track and its electronic pop sound, despite not having an explicit Christmas theme.

In Kygo’s case, special versions, edits, and tracks presented in DJ sets and live performances are commonly associated with the period due to the tropical house aesthetic, which appears in playlists aimed at travel, gatherings, and private parties.

The analysis of playlists and content published in December points to recurring patterns across platforms. Playlists identified as “Christmas Chill,” “Electronic Christmas,” and “Holiday EDM” bring together electronic tracks curated for the season.
