Over the past decade, Los Angeles native Tokimonsta has emerged as a trailblazer in the realms of dance and beat music, leaving an indelible mark on the industry with her innovative compositions and visionary approach. Tokimonsta’s journey began in the competitive beat battles of Leimert Park’s Project Blowed, where her talent caught the attention of audiences and industry insiders alike. Rising through the ranks as one of the few female producers in the scene, Tokimonsta’s performances were characterized by her unique fusion of DJ Krush, DJ Shadow, J Dilla, and RZA, creating a mesmerizing blend of hip-hop-inspired beats and ethereal melodies.

However, Tokimonsta’s journey was not without its challenges. In 2015, she was diagnosed with Moyamoya, a rare neurological condition that threatened both her life and her career. Undeterred, Tokimonsta underwent two brain surgeries and embarked on a triumphant comeback, culminating in the release of her critically acclaimed album, “Lune Rouge,” which garnered her a Grammy nomination for Best Electronic/Dance Album.
